Rumett started it’s journey in 2020 as a bachelor research project by Diana Saleh, with a vision to innovate the plasterboard industry, and leveraging mineral waste materials. Not only did Diana want to create a new product, but she also wanted to make a difference for people struggling around the world. During her days working for a non-profit organization, she witnessed large sections of a refugee camp burn down to the ground. Witnessing such destruction set her on a path. She had observed how temporary refugee shelters were constructed and concluded that they needed to be safer from fire risk.
That is when she started working to incorporate mineral waste in material compositions, to find a solution to the fire risks posed by construction materials used in refugee camps. Since then, the European market for construction materials has changed quite a bit, and is now looking to expand with more sustainable solutions. This has created a large market-space for Rumett to flourish in, and we are currently making expansions in the team as we are moving into later stages of development, going into the the future.
